Materials for Learning
At Friends of Epsom Downs, we recognise that educational materials can often become outdated. We collaborate with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current, age-appropriate textbooks. Moreover, we strive to support the digital age by providing up-to-date IT resources. Our commitment extends to fostering healthy outdoor activities and maintaining transportation for school trips. Through these initiatives, we aim to equip students with the tools and experiences necessary for a well-rounded education, preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.
Continuing Education for Teachers
At Friends of Epsom Downs, we are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience by supporting the continuous professional development of our teachers and support staff. We recognise that additional courses can significantly increase their knowledge and effectiveness in the classroom. Unfortunately, financial restrictions from the local & central government may limit these opportunities. Our mission is to bridge this gap and empower our educators to be the best they can be. By providing funding for extra courses, we aim to invest in the ongoing growth and expertise of our teaching professionals, ultimately benefiting every student in the Epsom Downs community
Support for Communities
At Friends of Epsom Downs, we recognise the evolving dynamics of our local community. In recent years, we've observed a trend of communities losing touch with each other. Our mission is to reverse this trend and foster a sense of interconnectedness, where community members support one another. We understand that those who need help the most might not always speak up. By actively participating in and contributing to the community, we aim to identify and address these needs. Together, we aspire to strengthen the bonds within our community, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and where assistance is readily available when needed.
We are delighted to announce that the Banstead Primary Care Network has generously supported one of our projects by providing a substantial donation of £10,000. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their commitment and contribution. This significant donation will play a crucial role in ensuring the swift establishment of the children's outdoor play area. Their support exemplifies the positive impact that collaboration between community initiatives and healthcare networks can have on the well-being and development of our children. Together, we are making strides toward creating a vibrant and nurturing environment for the community.
